A long time ago and far away, I played the game of football. I call it a game even though the risks of injuries when I played were great (10 out of 11 of the young men who graduated with me had 4-F draft status because of permanent injuries suffered while playing.) I also still call it a game even though several of my teammates are now suffering from CTE.
I still enjoy watching the game and especially rooting for my beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. Like many of my teammates we enjoy watching the game but do so with a huge sense of guilt knowing the physical punishment the young men will endure.
I have tried in my upcoming novel to weave little bit of that dilemma most former players experience into the storyline. I hope you will enjoy the story, the mystery, and the characters, and will write me what you think after you have read A Game of Inches.
