First let me apologize for the multiple printing delays in the publication of A Game of Inches. I have been working almost daily with the Senior Editor at my publisher, Beaufort Books, to try to make sure that A Game of Inches meets our standards for excellence and integrity. No one has been more frustrated with the delays than I have been. I have had to learn that some things are simply out of my control, and that when errors are repeated you stay diligent until the final product is one that everyone is proud of producing. The novel is now available in eVersions at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
I am also assured that within a matter of days, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and your local independent bookstores will have hard copies available for sale. Be sure and preorder your copies today from either Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local independent bookstore. If you want an autographed copy simply go to webbhubbell.com and place your order. I am assured that I will receive the books I ordered this week. I will be mailing the autographed preorders out the day I receive my books.
Early reviews of A Game of Inches. New reviews of A Game of Inches are coming in. Here is one from noted movie and TV Producer, Harry Thomason:
“It’s been interesting to observe Webb Hubbell’s journey as a writer. His latest book, A GAME OF INCHES, is another step in joining a select group of writers that never fail to seize your attention. This writer draws you into the plot, he mystifies you, he frightens you, he forces you to consider all possibilities but above all, he entertains you!” — Harry Thomason, producer of Designing Women and Evening Shade.
In July, I will start going to book clubs in Charlotte, and as soon as local bookstores receive their books I will start booking book signings and speaking events. I will update everyone about future events, and if I’m in your area please drop by and say hello and give me feedback.
Political Conventions. The Republican and Democratic Conventions are in July. Campaign rhetoric is already at a fever pitch. Get your copy and read what Carl Bernstein, author of All the President’s Men, calls an essential text on the Clinton’s — Friends In High Places.
A Favor To Ask. After you have read A Game of Inches and you enjoyed it, take a moment to go to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads or any other online book reviewer and write a short review even if all you do is award it five stars. Even more importantly, help me spread the word by telling your friends, your book clubs, church groups or business organizations about the Jack Patterson series. It makes a huge difference. I will post soon other ways you can help me spread the word about A Game of Inches.
Giveaways. This June, I sponsored a giveaway on Goodreads of three autographed copies of A Game of Inches. The contest ended June 23rd. I will let you know when another giveaway is going to be held. Join the spirit yourself. Give one copy of A Game of Inches away to your local or school library. If your charitable organization would like an autographed copy of a Jack Patterson novel contact me at [email protected]. A limited number of copies of all my books are still available.
Speaking Opportunities: My July calendar is not that full. There is room for more opportunities. We haven’t started to put together our August or fall schedule yet so if you would like me to speak to your organization, university, or church contact either [email protected] or me at [email protected]. If you would like to schedule a book signing, other book related event, or a media interview contact [email protected]
Favorite Recipes: Several reviewers already say about A Game of Inches that the novel keeps them on the edge of their seat, but also makes them hungry. Jack does enjoy a good meal. Watch for some of Jack’s favorite recipes in coming months.
Until next month all the very best and don’t forget to preorder A Game of Inches at webbhubbell.com.
