Arkansas’s Death Penalty Love Affair

Dear Readers:

It is with a heavy heart that I read this morning that Arkansas executed a human being last night and is still fighting legal battles to execute seven more in the month of April. My birthplace has had a love affair with executions for a long time going back to when the Democrats controlled both houses of the legislature and every constitutional office, so its love affair is not partisan or unique to the current Republican Governor and Attorney General. Whatever is in the water in my home state that makes its leaders thirsty for blood needs removal.

I had a wonderful time in Charleston at the Charleston Library Society . Every author should be so lucky as I was to have this opportunity. I also have been to wonderful book clubs in Charlotte and Dallas, and speak to the Matthews, NC Rotary next Monday. At every book event I receive lots of excellent feedback that helps me with my next books.

Books: The award-winning Jack Patterson Thrillers, including my latest, A Game of Inches are available for Mother’s and Father’s Days, birthdays, thank you gifts, and just to be nice presents. Autographed copies are available at my website, webbhubbell.com. Amazon and Barnes & Noble are selling hard copies and eVersions, and local independent bookstores either have them in stock or can get books from my publisher, Beaufort Books. If your favorite bookstore has run out, ask them to order you a copy today.
